Steve Job’s autobiography is out. I got a copy off of iBooks’ store and began reading two nights ago. There are no words for my feelings towards the loss of Steve Jobs. The man is a true icon and inspiration for me on a very personal level. His 2005 Stanford commencement speech is the reason for me to follow my heart and do what I enjoy doing each day. Like Steve said, “your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do, so remember, stay hungry stay foolish. You will be missed Steve, but your spirit will live on in the millions of people that you have inspired.

Two Months ago we unveiled our first jewelry collection, Alchemy by Sistine. Up until this point, only a selection of our closest friends and customers have been able to place orders for a few very limited pieces from the Memento Mori collection. We have gotten excellent feedbacks regarding this first jewelry line and we want to be able to produce more pieces and make them available to everyone, not just a selected few.

Today, we officially kicked off our funding project on Kickstarter. As much as we love designing and releasing exciting new products of the highest quality for our customers, it comes at a steep cost. At Sistine, we believe that the value of a tasteful and well-made product will speak for itself. We would like to ask for your help in reaching our funding goal for this project. Please take a moment and visit our Kickstarter page for details.

We have set up many tiers of rewards starting as low as $1 should you decide to pledge. If you would like to help out aside from pledging, we simply ask that you share our Kickstarter project with your friends and networks. As always, thank you for the support!

My favorite season is here at last. Why is it my favorite? Simply put, Fall is the most fashionable time of the year. The cooler weather means more layers, more options, and no more ugly looking sandals and flip flops. Today I want to recommend a few shoes that you can’t go wrong with this Autumn.
UNIOINMADE x Alden McClaren two tone Longwing. Classy and stylish. Available here.

Another beautifully crafted shoe from England. Our Legacy exclusive Derby shoe in black. Available now at the TRES BIEN SHOP.

If you aren’t shy about colors, this is a great pair of Capri Suede Derby from T&F Slack. Available now at oki-ni.

A little bold for most perhaps. But hey, what’s fashion without a little excitement right? KR3W steers away from the skateboard-centric LA style and introduces their first footwear collection. Available at KR3W stockists in the coming weeks.

If you’re looking for something slightly more formal and pointy-toed, look no further than the Maison Martin Margiela hybrid oxford. The layer of rubber around the bottom of the shoe gives it a nice touch. Available now.

This is perhaps my favorite silhouette for the daily-basis. Check back with ASOS for availability.

Want something with a higher top? The YMC riding boot got a traditional look with a sophisticated looking leather-buckled strap. Available now at oki-ni.

Adidas SLVR has been introducing some very refreshing hybrid looks with their shoes. This is their reiteration of its Beach Moc. What’s not to love about a nicely done moccasin-sneaker hybrid. Available now at the SLVR online shop.

It’s been awhile since I did a weekly pick post. Here we go with some of my fav picks to look out for for the Fall season.
Lots of tribal patterned tee’s and shirts this year. This one’s from Swagger’s 2011 F/W collection. Available now for approximately $120 USD.

A nice and solid touch from McQueen’s 2011 F/W footwear collection.

Don’t be shy with them sweaters when the weather starts to get cooler. Love this look from Opening Ceremony’s collaboration with Rodarte.

This is a fantastic piece from Japanese label TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSololst, utilizing a mix of fabrics with some interesting cuts.

You’ve probably been seeing a lot of similar style boots recently if you’re the hipster type. This Brogue Boot from British label Tricker’s is available now at Nitty Gritty for $686 USD

I’ve always been a fan of the cooler silhouette offerings from Nike when it comes to hi-top dunks. The charcoal/gold mix will easily go well with any wardrobe you’ll whip up for the Fall.

To be honest, I haven’t been as impressed with some of the latest looks from Alexander Wang, but this felt jacket caught my eyes. The inspiration for the construction clearly comes from several different garments. The Felt Jacket pairs a bomber jacket style with a sport coat into one piece. Available now at Restir.

It’s still a bit early for the black winter coat, but in case you’re looking for a new coat this winter, here’s a nice offering from Wings + Horns. Designed with toggle buttons in front as well as a snap hood with a nylon liner. Available now Haven for $394.

Ever wanted one of those lomo cameras but didn’t want to take the plunge and drop a 50 for a plastic toy? If you got some time and patience, here’s how you can make your own camera and get that holga feel. If I had some time on my hands, I’d really like to give this a shot.
